Sambalpur, July 26 (LocalWire): The death toll in Bharatpur open cast mine tragedy has gone up to three with rescuers retrieving two more bodies from the debris.
Two mutilated and decomposed bodies were recovered from the mishap site today.
The deceased persons were identified as Rashmi Ranjan Behera and Raj Kishore.
The mishap took place at the mining site on Tuesday morning hours after the strata of the mine suddenly collapsed. At least four miners were trapped inside, said officials of state-run Mahanadi Coal Fields.
The body of a miner identified as Papun Biswal was extricated from the debris on Wednesday.
Rescuers from MCL and the National Disaster Response Force are still on the job to trace another miner still trapped inside the debris, said officials.
