Bhubaneswar, December 16 (LocalWire): Two women were injured as they allegedly jumped off a moving train near Bagdehi railway station in Jharsuguda district on Monday, police said.
The injured, identified as Jyotsna Naik (20) and Dhanamati (19), had boarded the Puri-Nizamuddin Utkal Express at Bamra railway station. However, they jumped from the running train at Bagdehi railway station where the train had no stoppage.
While Jyotsna had lost her leg, Dhanamati sustained head injuries in the mishap.
The two were admitted to the district headquarters hospital at Jharsuguda and then shifted to VIMSAR at Burla after their condition deteriorated, the sources said adding an inquiry was on to ascertain as to how and under what circumstances the women had jumped off the express train
