Bhubaneswar, February 22 (LocalWire): Warding off the tag of under-achievers isn’t an impossible task for Odisha anymore.
Thanks to two bright entrepreneurs who have proved all wrong by setting up their own successful business venture in the state.
Meet Swayamjeet Kar and Ekalavya Mahapatra who took the bold step of pursuing their passion and founded a publication venture exclusively on the automotive industry – a first in the state.
Named ‘The Moto-OP’, it provides updates from the auto industry, through written & video reviews, picture galleries, travelogues, interviews, customer support & exclusive deals on vehicles.
Starting with a seed funding of just 6.5 lakh, the company has seen sound revenue inflow ever since it was launched, Swayamjeet told LocalWire.
“The venture turned two very old friends into business partners. We both are still undergraduate students which is both exciting and exhausting,” said co-owner Mahapatra.
“Every day, we go through a tight schedule which includes meeting with clients and carrying out the college responsibilities.
Swayamjeet feels that the startup culture in the state needs a push as there is a lack of dedicated and skilled individuals with a shared interest in the automotive world,” he added.
The young duo credits their “never give up” attitude and “smart work” for their success in the industry.
Asked about handling rejections, they quoted actor Arnold Schwarzenegger saying: “You can’t climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pockets. Rejections make us work harder, retrospect and recreate more attractive result-yielding proposals for the clients,” said Mahapatra.
Moto-OP offers a wide spectrum of choices to its clients as they have partnered with motor giants like Harley-Davidson, TVS, Suzuki, Honda, Jaguar-Land rover, Maruti-Suzuki, TATA motors and Skoda.
