Bhubaneswar, Oct 31 (LOcalWire): US Consul General, Hyderabad, Joel Reifman, emphasized the need to create a digitally-enabled rural financial ecosystem in the state to ensure farmers’ earnings without interference of any middleman.
Reifman, on a visit to Milk Mantra which has created a business model with its flagship brand Milky Moo’, was impressed by its responsible business model that is empowered by various technological interventions like cloud-based data capture including digital financial service at the farmers’ level.
Reifman was accompanied by political and economic chief, Kristen Loeher, cultural affairs advisor Salil Kader and economic specialist Siba Tripathy during his visit.
Milk Mantra is a value chain unit based on transparency, purity and innovation laid on the bedrock of collecting pure milk through its ethical milk sourcing programme with 60,000 network farmers, said Srikumar Misra, founder of the unit.
Milk Mantra has attracted global investment funds to Odisha. American fund fidelity which is one of the world’s largest asset management companies, has roped in funds to promote milk farming in the state, he said.
