Rourkela, Dec 10 (LocalWire): A group of miscreants reportedly looted vehicle and cash worth Rs. 12,000 from a government official on gun-point while he was returning from Gurundia to Rourkela.
The Chandiposh police registered a case and started investigation. However, the culprits are still at large.
According to sources, Amartya Pradhan, an inclusive education coordinator in Sundargarh district, was on an official duty on Saturday at Gurndia block of the district.
After completion of his work during late evening, Pradhan had left Gurndia towards Rourkela after taking his dinner.
Pradhan was returning in his official vehicle (Mahindra Bolero) along with his driver. A Rourkela business B K Agarwal had taken a lift in their vehicle.
At about 12.15 am, when they were crossing Tamada area on Gurundia – Rourkela road, a group of Hindi-speaking six-seven people with arms intercepted their vehicle and looted them.
Chandiposh police inspector-in-charge I Ekka said: “We suspect the miscreants might have escaped to neighbouring Jharkhand area. We have sent a team to the neighbouring state to nab them.”
