Jagatsinghpur, June 26 (LocalWire): Vigilance officials today raided the house and office of junior engineer of Raghunathpur block on charges of amassing disproportionate assets.
The sleuths traced movable and immovable property worth Rs 2.10 crore from the possession of Tribikram Samantray and his family members.
Raids were conducted at Samantray’s three-storey residential building at Badabalikani village under Kujang police limit, his office in Raghunathpur block, his spice factory at Chandura under Jagatsinghpur police limit and his father-in-law’s house at Harishpur under Raghunathpur police limit.
Inspector, vigilance, Jagatsinghpur, Hemant Kumar Mohanty, said, ‘investigators found movable and immovable property worth Rs 2.10 crore and cash worth Rs 43,720. LIC bonds, vehicle worth Rs 19.41 lakh, machinery for spice factory worth Rs 12 lakh, three storied building worth Rs 80 lakh, gold ornament worth Rs 2.27 lakh and verified accounts at different nationalized banks were also found.’
‘Verification is continuing. We are ascertaining the income of the official.
His income would be calculated to ascertain the gap between the cost of assets and his actual income,’ he added.
