Bhubaneswar, Sept 5 (LocalWire): Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy today after paying a visit to VIMSAR, Burla told reporters that a COVID Hospital there would be made within one week.
He was accompanied by the Additional Chief Secretary from the Health Department, Pradeepta Mohapatra. He said, “Within next 7-10 days a 100-bedded COVID Hospital will be made at VIMSAR, Burla.
This will keep a boost to the Coronavirus care in western Odisha,”
He said that earlier the District Headquarter Hospitals (DHH) in western Odisha were loaded with Coronavirus patients.
Tripathy said that the COVID Hospital will get oxygen pipe, ICU and Operation Theatre and other required resources besides dedicated doctors and paramedical staff.
The top bureaucrat said that the hospital till now has been managing an isolation ward which is not of much help keeping in mind the current scenario.
According to sources in the health department, it has been planning to make several other additional COVID Hospitals in the state to cater to the rising demands of the cases and many government hospitals could be roped in for the same in the days to come.
