Rourkela, August 28 (LocalWire): Rourkela Steel Plant has been taking up a series of activities to mark the ‘Water Conservation month’ by SAIL.
A function was organised at coal chemicals department where the DGM in-charge, CCD, Santosh Kumar, inaugurated a new waste water recycling system worth Rs. 53.49 lakhs.
As a part of this project, a catch pit has been constructed with pumping facility to collect effluents from the salt section of the sulphate plant.
The effluents are then transferred to the common collection sump so that it can be treated in BOD plant and utilised in coke oven batteries.
This environment-friendly project will not only reduce the wastewater discharge from RSP but will also ensure its utilisation.
