Bhubaneswar, May 14 (LocalWire): A special water purifier bus developed by the Council of Science and Industrial Research (CSIR) has reached Odisha from Gujarat to help the cyclone-affected people.
The 40-feet-long bus can purify over 40,000 litres of water daily, or 2,000 litres per hour. The bus houses a water purification-and-desalination system developed by the Bhavnagar-based Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI) of CSIR.
The system can purify any kind of contaminated water, including silt and brackish water. Its TFC membrane filtration can also remove virus and bacteria.
The bus will travel to all Fani-affected villages in the state to provide pure drinking water to people.
