Rourkela, Nov 23 (LocalWire): Rourkela MLA Dilip Ray has expressed his concern over sudden stoppage of work of second Brahamani bridge at Rourkela,
Significantly, the contractor of the said project have stopped the work, on the ground that they have not been handed over the land for the approach road of the project.
Ray, in a release, had demanded immediate intervention of state and central government over the matter and resumption of construction work.
He said, responding to one of his question in state assembly regarding status of second Brahamani bridge, minister Prafulla Mallick informed that due to delay in handing over of land and clearance of forest land, the project work of second Brahamani bridge has been delayed.
Mallick informed that the stage 1 clearance for forest land was given during May 2018 and for cutting of trees, permission was given during August 2018.
He said out of the total road of 29.10 kilometre land for about 21.3 kilo meter road have been provided to the contract firm, the release said.
Ray, in his release, claimed Mallick’s reply has established that uncertainty has been prevailing over the completion of the second Brahamani bridge, which has been a much awaited project for the people of Rourkela.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced construction of second Brahamani bridge and upgradation of Ispat General Hospital to a super specialty hospital during 2015, while addressing a public meeting, whereas both the issues are continue to be pending, the release said.
Since, second Brahamani bridge has been a much awaited demand, the state and central government should take immediate measures for resumption of the construction work and its early completion, the release added.
