Berhampur, February 9 (LocalWire): At least four persons, including a seven-year-old boy, sustained injuries when a wild boar attacked them at Badapankal village under Ganjam district’s Polasara forest range, an official said on Saturday.
The injured were rushed to the Community Health Center (CHC), Polasara for treatment and they have been discharged from the hospital.
According to the villagers, the animal strayed into the village from the nearby jungle on Friday.
When they tried to drive the animal away, it became violent and attacked them.
The villagers informed the forest officials who then rushed to the village immediately.
‘The wild boar was driven away to the nearby jungle” said forest ranger Hara Prasad Sahu.
The villagers however demanded compensation to the victims.
“We are inquiring into the incident and accordingly action will be taken” said Divisional Forest Officer (in-charge), Ghumusara south division AK Behera.
