Paradip, Jan 9 (LocalWire): A woman and her two daughters were tied to a tree and stripped in Hasina village under Kujang police station jurisdiction today over a land dispute. Two people have been arrested in this connection.
Haramani Tarai and her neighbours had a long-standing land dispute. Today her negihbours Bijay Tarai and his brother Gajendra Tarai forcibly entered Haramani’s land and started digging to construct a toilet.
When Haramani and her family protested the brothers assaulted them and threatened to kill them.
When Haramani’s daughter protested, the neighbours attacked and injured her.
After attacking, Two women from the neighbours’ family then tied the mother and two daughters to a tree and stripped them for protesting the construction. The three women were then assaulted by the neighbours.
Villagers rescued them and sent them to Kujang hospital for treatment.
Anima Tarai lodged an FIR in Kujang police station. IIC of Kujang police station Dillip Sahoo said, ‘Police registered the case and arrested the brothers Bijay and Gajendra and forwarded them to the court today.
We are investigating the involvement of the two women who abused them. After investigation, police will arrest other culprits.’
