Paralakhemundi, Dec 10 (LocalWire) A 48-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband at Tilisingi under Gajapati district’s Mohana police station limits on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Khira Ranasandha. She was mother of seven children.
The accused, identified as Kura Ranasandha (52), was detained by the police for interrogation. The axe, which used to kill the woman, was seized, said Mohana police station inspector-in-charge PK Behera.
The woman’s body was sent to MKCG Medical College for post-mortem examination.
Police suspects family dispute led to the woman’s murder.
“The couple had a fight four days back. Today morning, while Khira was sitting near a bonfire, Kura attacked her with an axe and cut her throat. She died on the spot,” said Behera.
