Bhubaneswar, Dec 30 (LocalWire): A 23-year-old tribal woman died when the bonfire she lit to stave-off the biting cold, caught her clothes at Bhoka village under Harichandanpur village in Odisha’s Keonjhar district tonight.
Raimani Munda sustained serious burn injuries and was rushed to a government hospital, 30 kilometres from the village.
Hospital authorities declared her brought dead, said police, adding that they registered an unnatural death case.
The district encompassed by hilly tracts and dense forests is currently reeling under a harsh cold wave with mercury hovering around 5 to 6 degrees Celsius.
There are reports of snowfall in interior part of the district since the past 48 hours.
