Bhubaneswar, Oct 11 (LocalWire): The Odisha Transport Commissioner has asked all Regional Transport Offices to extend working hours in order to expedite issue of learner’s license and driving license after implementation of the new Motor Vehicles’ Act.
The regional transport officers have also been advised to hold learner’s license camps in the interior areas of the state on government holidays as per requirement.
‘You are directed to extend the working hours on all working days depending upon the number of LL/DL applications pending in your office, so that the offices will remain closed on the government holidays.
You may hold learner’s license camps in interior areas on government holidays as per requirement,’ the transport commissioner wrote in a letter to all regional transport officers.
For improving availability of slots to issue learner’s license at the earliest, he also asked them to use more computers for learner’s license test to accommodate more candidates in a slot.
He also asked the slot duration to be reduced to 10 minutes, organise learner’s license camps in schools, colleges and block offices where computer labs are available to facilitate the public and take fees and biometric of the applicants on the spot and allow new applicants in vacant slots.
