Bhubaneswar, June 21(LocalWire): Yoga professor couple from Odisha was felicitated by the Mahidol University in Thailand on fifth International Yoga Day today for their contribution to the yoga programme run by the institution.
The couple Dinesh Swain and his wife Prativa Shree, both yoga professors of Shri Shri University have received several awards including Yoga Ratna, were invited for the second consecutive year to the Research Institute of Languages and Cultures of Asia (RILCA) at Mahidol University, which teaches Yogic Science and Ayurveda, to deliver lectures.
Both taught yoga and meditation during their three-day stay.
‘Yoga has gone global now and we are fortunate to be invited to such a prestigious international institution to deliver talks on the ancient Indian practice. We are grateful to the university for inviting us,’ said Swain.
The duo took lectures, workshops, interactive session on yoga, meditation, disease prevention and curative perspectives of yoga.
‘We are happy to see their keen interest in not just Asanas but in deeper theoretical, philosophical and spiritual aspects of yoga,’ Swain said.
Students from Singapore, Vietnam, India, Thailand and Switzerland have joined the year-long programme at the University this year to improve their career in yoga studies and yogic therapy.
