Cuttack, Jan 15 (Localwire) Fitness enthusiasts in Cuttack are nowadays getting fanatical about Zumba. The high energy dance inspired workout has ensured that exercise doesn’t necessarily have to be boring now.
Localwire recently talked to Zumba instructor Zin & Sync Mohit Dhanuka about the benefits and workout process of this new style fitness. This is what he said in a free-wheeling interview.
Please tell something about Zumba?
Zumba is a real treat for all fitness lovers. It’s a fitness programme in the form of dance, fun and enjoyment. It makes the people active and happy. Zumba dance uses every muscle in the body and you can get into the rhythm of music.
What is the origin of Zumba?
Zumba originated during 1990 by Colombian dancer and choreographer Alberto “Beto” Perez. Later, it started gaining popularity in various parts of the world in early 2000.
What are other Zumba dance forms?
Zumba has many dance steps. Some major Zumba dance forms include salsa, reggaeton, merengue and cumbia.
What is the workout process in Zumba?
During this unique fitness dance the Zumba instructor stands at the front of the studio and fitness freaks involved in the workout will be facing the instructor and shadowing his/her steps and movements.
What are the advantages of Zumba?
The overall health of the fitness enthusiasts improve through this exercise. It makes a person flexible and improves stamina. It also reduces fat and burns calories. It significantly boosts energy levels and increases confidence. It’s absolutely a great way to de-stress and reduce anxiety. The whole body is involved in a workout thereby shaping and sculpting it. It can prevent ailments such as heart attack and asthma.
Being an instructor, how long do you spend devoting for Zumba every day?
I am taking 4-5 classes every day, and offer approximately 4-5 hours of training.
When did you become a licensed Zumba trainer?
I became licensed Zumba trainer in 2016. I am from Cuttack and love to offer training programs in my city.
I got surprising result from the fitness lovers in the city. In fact, the training of Zumba must be taken under the expert guidance of a licensed trainer as proper workout instructions will be given accordingly.
We must understand that this is not a dance program, but a fitness program where you have to learn how to teach.
There are many disadvantages if the training is taken from uncertified Zumba trainers, such as leg twisting, body pain, etc.
